Marketplace Analysis

Marketplace analysis is the ongoing measurement of price, ranking, stock and campaign movements in the categories you sell in, and comparing them with your own position. Gods Of Sale brings this work together in one panel for Trendyol, Hepsiburada and Amazon Turkey.

What do you lose without analysis?

In a store that does not measure, the cause of a drop in sales is never clearly known. Did a competitor cut prices, did ranking fall, or did demand decrease? All three produce the same symptom, but each requires a completely different response.

Wrong diagnosis is expensive. Trying to solve a ranking loss by cutting prices neither fixes the problem nor protects margin. The real value of analysis is showing the right problem.

Three marketplaces, three different readings

On Trendyol, competition mostly happens in search ranking, and you improve your own listing. On Hepsiburada and Amazon, the same product is grouped on a shared page and competition continues within that page.

That is why different conclusions are drawn from the same data. In the shared page structure, performance metrics such as delivery time and cancellation rate can be as decisive as price.

How to do it step by step?

1. Narrow the scope

Choose 5-10 products that serve the same customers as yours, not the whole category. A focused list is more valuable than a broad one.

2. Date your measurements

Record every observation with its date. A single screenshot is not an analysis.

3. Filter out the noise

Compare each measurement with the previous one and look only at differences that matter. Otherwise you will drown in a pile of data.

4. Combine the decision with cost

Analysis is an input. A price decision is only sound when it is made together with your own net profit threshold.

Limitations: what does it not cover?

Applying these with awareness lets you set realistic expectations:

Only publicly available data is measured. Competitors' sales volume, revenue, profit margin and costs are closed to the outside.

It is only as precise as its measurement interval. Scanning is hourly or daily depending on the subscription; movements in between may be missed.

Ranking is personalized. The measured position is a reference; it is not the order each user sees.

Platform algorithms are not published. Since ranking and featured rules are not disclosed, analysis is based on observation.

Frequently asked questions

What is marketplace analysis?

It is the ongoing measurement of price, ranking, stock and campaign movements in the categories you sell in, and comparing them with your own position.

Which marketplaces are covered?

Trendyol, Hepsiburada and Amazon Turkey.

Does analysis increase my sales?

Not directly. It shows you the right problem; sales change depending on the decisions you make.

Can I see competitors' revenue?

No. That data is only in the store's own panel.

Can I analyze manually?

Yes, for a small number of products. As the number of products and competitors grows, daily manual measurement becomes impractical.

Doing it with the tool

Hermes automates this measurement across three marketplaces and sends notifications on changes. For the ranking side, SeoScope, for the profitability side, ProfitPulse is used.

For a method that can be applied without tools, Trendyol competitor analysis guide page.
